MESEA chooses VFLI for the LGV SEA
The construction of the South Europe Atlantic high-speed railway line (LGV SEA) has been a large-scale work program involving the laying of 1400 km of rail tracks linking Tours to Bordeaux (340 km).
This new high-speed line will be opened in July 2017. Management and maintenance of the line will be handled by MESEA, a company jointly owned by VINCI Concessions (70%) and SYSTRA (30%). Thus, MESEA will be responsible for maintaining the line throughout the duration of its concession, which runs until 2061, ensuring the complete safety of trains travelling at 320 k.p.h., 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Operations will be performed by teams from 3 maintenance centres in Villognon (16), Nouâtre-Maillé (37) and Clérac (17).
MESEA has chosen VFLI to operate the service trains and work site trains required for maintaining the new line in good working order, hauling any trains that may find themselves in difficulty and clearing the tracks before any passenger trains come through.
